Times They Are A Changin'

The date is December 2nd 2015......
I am sitting down for my breakfast drink and reading the paper on my cell phone. The Kids are grabbing their Ipads and going to school. They don't need a backpack, pencils, books, etc. This is the future.

It's an odd thing that when things change. It seems like we are so used to books that we can hold and read, but now everything is going digital. I am not going to lie, it's pretty cool that when I read The Time Machine it was on my Itouch. I just takes a little bit of getting used to. Right now I am in the process of reading Sherlock Holmes. I do have regular books still at my house. To think that someday, in maybe 20 years, you will go to a store or a yard sale and pick up a book. Then you will ask whoever you are with if they remember books. It will be like that scene in Back To The Future 2 when Marty is showing the kids in the diner how to play a video game. They say, "you use your hands?" He says, "Yeah" They say, "It's like a baby's toy." LOL. That's what we and the kids will say about books, cds, and dvds.

It's funny how in the movies the future is so advanced, but the truth is that it's changing so fast that we don't notice it. Think about it.

I am 39 years old, and I have been around for.......

I'm sure I missed a few. Anyway, the world is great with all these things in it, but some nostalgic things are going away. Will they be missed? Does anyone really think, "I really wish I could hear this new My Chemical Romance on 8 Track." I doubt it. Are we nostalgic for certain things? Yes we are. I guess that's what Antique stores are for. There's a saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same." I think that means that we will alway watch movies, listen to music, talk on the phone, need transportation, write on our personal computer devices, watch tv, and surf the internet. The way we do it may change, but what we do will not. Just something to think about.

Thanks for reading.
